WELCOME!    Life can be challenging, but that does not mean one cannot only survive but thrive in the face of those challenges!  My life was transformed Christmas Day 2006, when at the age of 35 I received the diagnosis of brain cancer.  I am now on a new journey.  A journey not of my own choosing, yet one I am on none-the-less.  The journey into and through the world of cancer.   Throughout my initiation to this new world of cancer, I fell through many gaps.  I was never told I had cancer.  I was told that my entire tumor had been removed when it indeed had not.  Although I was a prime candidate for blood clots following surgery, I was not told the signs and symptoms of clots.  I almost lost my life by waiting too long to return to the hospital when I had lungs full of clots and a partially collapsed lung.  I was never told that I had been diagnosed with a rare blood clotting disorder in addition to brain cancer.  I saved myself from being permanently affected by this lack of information and erroneous information through my own research and personal advocacy.  I learned the hard way what survival is all about on every level, physical, emotional, and spiritual. I have professional expertise as a research librarian.  These skills combined with my personal experience and knowledge allow me to help others successfully navigate the world of chronic illness.
